Natural Remedies for Vaginosis Itching

All of these methods are temporary, short-term solutions.  To get a long-term solution visit: BacterialVaginosis.com

Baking Soda Bath - One of the methods I've used when the itching and burning got so bad, that I'd itched myself into a frenzy, was to take a baking soda sitz bath.  Baking soda is great for bee stings, wasp stings, or any kind of insect bite as well, as it helps to draw the "heat" out of the area.  The same with an over-itching scenario.  It's worked with poison oak topically, so I used it on myself in the nether regions and had success there with it.

There's two ways to do it, create a compost with baking soda and water and pack it on.  If you find it burns, you might want to just rinse in a tepid baking soda bath. Don't fill the tub full of water, just enough to cover the places affected and then take baking soda and place it into the bath allowing it to dissolve.

The idea is to provide relief from the itching, so you can stop the itching cycle.

Apply Cider Vinegar -- Another remedy that I've used is a apple cider vinegar / water rinse -- but if you've itched yourself too much this may sting.  If that occurs, just rinse with clear water.

Plain Yogurt - make sure the package says "live yeast cultures" or it won't do any good.  This is a cooling remedy that brings down the burn.  You can apply liberally externally or apply to a tampon and insert. Yogurt's great for returning your body to balance.  It contains the good bacteria known as Lactobacillus.  You can also get acidophillus and ingest this.  Acidophillus also comes in a buttermilk type drink of many flavors, this you take internally through the mouth.  I've never tried applying it anywhere else, but it might work -- it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Liquid Aloe Vera - This type of aloe vera is sold at health food stores and in some grocery stores.  Liquid aloe vera is an all around cure, for more than just ails a females nether regions.  This can work to heal an upset stomach that has too much acid or can be applied external.  If you have an aloe vera plant, cut a tip and use the gel fresh from the plant and apply externally.  This is a very soothing ointment and it's always a good idea to have an aloe vera plant handy.

Garlic - Garlic ingested regularly can help to restore a body to balance.  There's many a wives tales with garlic and the longer I walk the earth the more I realize that these wives tales, may not be tales at all, but a means to pass down valuable information.

Saline bath - add a little sea salt to your bath water.  When I was kid growing up on the west coast on the Southern California beaches, I'd remember going into the ocean with skinned knees and elbows and coming out nearly healed after a few days.  The ocean has incredible healing properties because of it's salt water, much like the amniotic fluid we all form in.  A warm (or as warm as you can stand it) saline bathe will cure most ills.  You can do this even if you don't have the vaginal itching.

Tea Bag -- We use these remedy on our pets as well.  The tea bag is also a good way to draw the "heat" from something.  Heat the tea bag and if you can stand it warm on your genitals, apply it, if not, cool it in the freezer a bit and then apply.

Anyone of these methods will help to still the itching and the burning and may provide temporary relief, yet more long term solutions may be what you're looking for.

BV sufferers -- there is relief -- You can end the vicious cycle of bacterial vaginosis with Elena Peterson's Bacterial Vaginosis Freedom.

Do You Suffer From Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) - You May Need A Diet for IBS

There are currently 1 in 3 US Adults taking over the counter or prescriptions pills for problems with their stomach and the pain associated with it. What most people are frustrated with is, even if they eat how most health professionals consider to be healthy, a large percentage of people STILL experience digestive problems. And so most people resort to drugs, surgery or eating bland foods. Or they just continue to suffer. While irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a catchall phrase for issues with your digestive tract -- what you may need is a diet for IBS.

But there is a way to end this problem.  Most of the issues that people have with their stomach, has to do with eating foods that have a pH balance that's contradictory to their body.  Most people eat foods that are acidic and this can create huge imbalances in your digestive track.

There is a simple eating system is designed to dramatically reduce the acid pH measure in a person's entire body -- not just in the stomach. It does so by increasing the ratio of alkaline forming foods eaten and by showing you how to combine foods in a way that radically decreases the amount of acid digestive juices in the stomach and small intestines required to break down foods.

One of the primary components of the Great Taste No Pain System is the science of food combining, which was first introduced into the US in 1911 by Dr. William Hay, a New York surgeon who used it to cure his Bright's Disease, a kidney disease which was often fatal at that time. In fact, among the many thousands of lives it claimed was Teddy Roosevelt's first wife, who died of Bright's Disease at just 22 years of age.

A basic knowledge of Junior High chemistry is all it takes to see the logic behind this science: Mixing foods that require alkaline digestive enzymes with foods that require acid digestive enzymes slows and can even stop the digestive process. It can and does delay digestion by as much as 10 hours and more. This is incredibly bad for the body. The Great Taste No Pain system alleviates this problem, speeding food through your body, allowing it to absorb nutrients from foods at a much higher level.

In addition, one of the manuals in the Great Taste No Pain system, 'Foods That Create Acid, Foods That Take It Away,' is as clear as I've ever seen this data presented. Follow this simple guide and your body will use a minimum of energy in the digestion process, which leaves more energy for healing and other daily functions your body carries out.

This is a timely set of guides, because with our society's addiction to the convenience of processed foods, in many respects our health challenges are far worse than they were in 1911.

Great Taste No Pain author, Sherry Brescia, was a former Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) sufferer herself. In fact, in 1991, she spent 7 days in the hospital with bacterial colitis.

As a health insurance researcher and Chief Underwriter, she was able to research the benefits of an alkaline- balanced body and over the next 15 years perfected the system she now calls Great Taste No Pain.

She meshed a number of philosophies proven to help alkalize the body to create this simple system that anyone can follow regardless of where they are or what food choices they have available to them.

What Is The Great Taste No Pain System About?
Taste: Unlike most restrictive diets, Great Taste No Pain cannot actually be called a diet, because it allows you to eat even great volumes of luscious, delicious food as long as you combine it according to a few simple guidelines. It truly requires very little willpower. Perhaps the greatest news for people who love to eat is that the 176 page recipe book in the system is stuffed with breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks that are unbelievably tasty. No rabbit food. Gourmet all the way, yet the meals (if you like to cook) only take between 15 and 30 minutes of prep time and make tons of yummy leftovers. So you can throw away the belief that you can't eat healthy on a super-busy schedule.

Speed: I love that you don't have to read 300+ pages before learning what to do. In the first guide, 'How To End Stomach Pain Forever, Even If Your MD says, "No Way,"' it provides a brief background on the science and then quickly moves onto the step-by-step 'how to.' I really love that.

Simplicity: The second Guide in the GTNP System is 'What To Eat With What.' This is a massive compilation. Every kind of food that you could possibly put in your mouth is listed, along with the corresponding foods that combine with it for easy comfortable digestion, and those foods that don't. This guide is so complete and so easy to follow, if you screw this up, it's back to pre-school for you.

More Simplicity: Traveling is the one thing that can ruin even the healthiest eaters. But in Great Taste No Pain, Sherry gives you a 'Pocket Guide For Pain-Free Dining Out.' This tool is phenomenal. You can store this little baby with your credit cards and, until you understand what combines with what, all you have to do is pull out your pocket guide and quickly note the rule, so you can eat and
enjoy the rest of your day, pain-free.

Would you believe that you could eat McDonald's food and not suffer gassiness and reflux? Now you can!

Meat: While meat is not something people with digestive issues usually tolerate well on a daily basis (hence the daily pain), the problem isn't so much the meat as it is what you eat with the meat.

That is why each of the Guides in the system, including the recipe book, lists every possible food you can combine with meats without suffering. Most people will suddenly be able to eat beef, chicken, fish, pork, turkey, venison and any other type of meat they want. As long as you combine it right... no pain at all! And broccoli, lettuce, cucumbers and other veggies that can create havoc suddenly will not. That I love.

Fruit: Ask anyone that suffers stomach problems about fruit and you'll hear horror stories. So sadly, the most perfect food on the planet is shunned by a huge part of our world's population. No longer. Because you will soon learn why fruit causes you trouble and how to easily change that. You CAN eat fruit again, even if it now makes you turn blue! It's true!

While each Guide in the system is detailed and complete, they are "dumbed down" in the clearest language possible. So I don't doubt Sherry's claim that any 11 year old could teach it. This I really love.

Things To Watch For With The Great Taste No Pain Plan
The one thing you want to be careful of is that once you start eating as prescribed in Great Taste No Pain, you could quickly begin to feel all powerful. You might start to think you are "cured" of your digestive problems since they went away so fast and since you have so much extra energy.

That would be a mistake.

Because technically there is no "cure" for most digestive problem, because technically they are not diseases at all. They are maladies brought on by eating the wrong foods and by eating them in the wrong combinations. So the principles in Great Taste No Pain is not a "cure," since people with sensitive stomachs will always be sensitive. GTNP is merely a way to make all symptoms go away forever and give you a lot more energy.

For example, let's say you've got it bad and have Diverticulitis or Crohn's. Great Taste No Pain can help you get rid of your symptoms very quickly.

But a year later, if you start eating like you used to, guess what? Yep, the symptoms will come back. You see, the principles that Great Taste No Pain is based on are sound. They work for everyone. But if you think that because you've been symptom-free for a long time, you've been "cured," think again. Go against these principles of easy digestion, and the problem can come back with a vengeance. Remember, good health comes from living a healthy lifestyle, not a"do it once and you're fixed" approach.

Another thing you might want to be prepared for is that since Great Taste No Pain cleanses your digestive tract, initially you could get a little diarrhea. If you experience constipation on a fairly regular basis, you might get a little "looseness" at first, but it will end soon.

Also, due to the detoxing going on, you might get a runny nose or get some other cold-like symptoms at first. It's nothing to worry about. If you do, while it might not be fun, it does mean it's working. It means your body is becoming purer and the toxins are leaving. And that is a very good thing.

The End Result
When I began following the system, I personally was amazed at the amount of energy I had, even late into the evening. I had no discomfort, no bloating, I didn't feel the need to eat again within an hour and no need for caffeine after meals.

Professionally and personally, my strong recommendation is that for anyone who wants more energy, sounder and longer sleep, migraine headaches to stop almost immediately, pain from gastritis and acid reflux to stop almost instantly, and the pain of digestive problems to stop or be reduced dramatically, get over to: Great Taste No Pain now and get the whole system. You will be thrilled.

And frankly, it won't take a full day for most people to feel a major difference in their bodies. Often it just takes one meal. After you have been following it for a week or more, feel free to let me know how you like it. I personally believe that anyone who adopts this simple, enjoyable food combining method will reap gigantic health benefits. So if that is what you are looking for, get over to - Great Taste No Pain and get started today.

Nature's Band Aid - Aloe Vera Effects - Why Having an Aloe Vera Plant Around Is a Good Idea

Aloe Vera is a succulent plant that is believed to have originated in Northern Africa, Cape Verde, and the Canary islands, according to Wikipedia. It grows naturally in arid climates, and being a succulent (cactus-like), it doesn't tolerate frost or freezing conditions.

But that makes it perfect for an indoor house plant. Besides being an attractive addition to your indoor garden, it's easy to maintain, and it's always handy for those quick medicinal uses.

Aloe Vera Exudes Two Fluids
Each one with varying effects. When you slice a tip of the Aloe Vera leave, over time, it will seal and heal itself efficiently. When you squeeze this "leaf," you'll experience a yellow-green sap. You'll find this portion of the fluid to be an irritant. But this portion of the plant contains the latex-like compound, aloin – which is what helps to "seal" the plant. This is the part of the plant that is extracted for "oral" consumption.

The transparent fluid that comes from the "inner leaf" is more like a thick clear gel. This is the part of the plant that is great for minor cuts and abrasions. When it is crushed or cut, and its soothing gel applied directly to the wound, you'll get immediate relief for that burn or skin irritation. It also acts as an "invisible bandage" – this is what makes it great for promoting healing. I call it Nature's Band Aid, a name someone else may have given it, but it stuck with me.

Be sure to read below so you're clear on what parts of the plant to use where, or you could be experiencing some "skin" irritation. This information comes to us from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, National Institutes for Health:

What Can Aloe Be Used For Externally?

  • Heal skin wounds
  • Soothe burns
  • Soothe conditions of osteoarthritis
  • Provide relief for itching, like poison oak or ivy.

How About Internal Uses?
  • As a laxative, however, you won't find it packaged that way because the FDC removed OTC Aloe Vera laxatives because the companies producing the product didn't provide enough safety data.
  • Reducing stomach acid, also know to aid in the healing of ulcers and gastritis
  • Treatment for Asthma
  • Treatment for Epilepsy
  • Treatment for Osteoarthritis (topically and orally)

Side Effects

  • Oral use of Aloe Vera has been known to cause abdominal cramps and diarrhea in some people.
  • Diabetics taking glucose-lowering medication should note that Aloe Vera is also known for lower blood glucose levels – don't mix the two
  • Diarrhea caused by Aloe Vera can decrease the ability of the body to absorb other prescribed or OTC medications.
  • Be sure to let your health care providers know of all the alternative medical practices you use, especially if you are ingesting something. There can be multiple side effects if mixing natural remedies with prescribed medications; it's better to err on the safe side.

What Are The Causes of Vaginal Odor and Vaginal Discharge?

As a woman, I know how touchy a subject this is. While it's not necessarily a pleasant subject, if you are looking for information on the causes and cures of vaginal odors and vaginal discharge, you've come to the right place.

I know how men like to make jokes about women and that "fishy" smell -- but don't be fooled -- this is a real problem. They may make their jokes about us, but if anything were to happen to their member, their world comes to a complete standstill!

It's an embarassing scenario and no matter how many times you clean yourself or use douching products, you find that the problem does not go away. If you find this is true for you, it could be because you have bacterial vaginosis.

What Is Bacterial Vaginosis? Bacterial vaginosis is condition that exists in the vagina and causes a vaginal discharge and usually is a result of an overgrowth of the natural bacteria already present in the vagina.

This condition used to be called Gardnerella vaginitis, named for the bacteria that were believed to cause the problem. But since advancements in science, it has been discovered that there are several different types of bacteria that live in the vagina and when they overgrow, they can cause this condition. So the name Gardnerella vaginitis was dropped in favor of bacterial vaginosis, which is more representative of the fact that there are several different species of bacteria that cause the problem. When these naturally present bacteria become imbalanced, a woman can have a vaginal discharge with a very foul odor, often referred to as a fishy smell.

Please note that bacterial vaginosis is NOT a serious condition, but other conditions mimic it's symptoms such as chlamydia and gonorrhea.

What are the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis? The main symptoms of bacterial vaginosis are a foul fishy smell and increased vaginal discharge. While every woman experiences a certain amount of discharge each month, and this amount varies from woman to woman, if you experience an increase in discharge, pay attention, your body could be experiencing an imbalance. If you can relate to these experiences, then you may have bacterial vaginosis:

  • Burning and itching and the "fishy" smell and the discharge
  • The bad feelings that come after you ruin another pair of underwear
  • Being too embarrassed to have sex with your husband or boyfriend
  • Not being able to sit still and to have to run to the bathroom again and again and feel your co-workers' or friends' eyes on you the whole way
What Are The Causes? Believe it or not, vaginal douching is one cause. Vaginal douching disturbs the natural bacterial balance in the vagina and can thus result in bacterial vaginosis. Another cause can come from the male you are engaging with sexually. Men who do not clean themselves thoroughly can carry around bacteria that upset the natural bacteria balance in a woman, especially if he is not circumsized! So the key here is to use condoms -- always -- and not just for birth control -- but for disease control.

But don't be fooled -- women who are not currently engaging in sex, can still get bacterial vaginosis. Another link to the cause of bacterial vaginosis is cigarette smoking. Again, cigarette smoking can cause all kinds of imbalances in the body which results in the good bacteria dying off and the bad bacteria taking over.

But there is relief and you don't have to go to the doctor and have him tell you it's because you've being promiscuous and that's why you "caught" bacterial vaginosis! Most doctors treat you with harsh antibiotics that don't always work!

My friend, Elena Peterson, a medical researcher and past bacterial vaginosis sufferer herself got tired of her repeated infections and decided to research this problem and find a cure for once and all.

This 3-step attack is something that nobody else in the world has put together!
And here's the kicker - this three-step plan doesn't just cure bacterial vaginosis ... it will also dramatically boost your overall health in general.

Since Elena started using this plan she hasn't gotten sick, not even so much as a cold, in over three years!
